Regulated activity and authorisations

Applicable professional rules

The rules governing the accounting activity and activities ancillary to the expert-comptable profession derive from the amended law of 2 September 2011 regulating access to the professions of craftsman, trader and industrialist as well as to certain liberal professions, and from its implementing regulations. The public register of business permits is available on guichet.public.lu.

Out-of-court dispute resolution

Under the law of 17 February 2016 on alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes, a consumer who has not obtained satisfaction after a written complaint to the firm may refer the matter to the Luxembourg national consumer mediation service (mediateurconsommation.lu).

Referral is free of charge for the consumer and requires a prior written complaint to the firm that has not received a satisfactory answer.

Governing law and jurisdiction

The site and its use are governed by Luxembourg law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, without prejudice to protective rules of jurisdiction applicable to consumers.
